In The Beginning (32)
TWENTY-TWO
We agreed to meet at 8:30 in the bungalow Jeff and Rob were occupying for a leisurely breakfast over which Jeff had volunteered to preside and prepare. The floor plan was identical to ours …sliding glass door off the patio into a large family room; the second bedroom off to the left; straight ahead into the master bedroom and just before running into the king sized bed an arched doorway leading to the right into the large eating area in which the kitchen was also situated and a back door into the garden area with a pathway that connected to ours which led out to the garages.
Breakfast dishes cleared away, we drifted out to the patio area surrounding the pool. One thing of seeming deep interest to the men was the water treatment system which used no chlorine or other chemicals; all three of them seemed to be somewhat mechanically inclined. Jeff said they had switched their swimming pool over to a similar system five years previously and one of the advantages was that the pool did not have to be resurfaced or painted for many years and that the savings in chemicals and pool maintenance more than paid for the cost of the installation.
It was amazing to me how we could talk about the mundane things of the physical realm when just beneath the surface we all shared such a powerful connection with SPIRIT.
“You chose to enter this realm so that it could be experienced,” SPIRIT’s voice penetrated my reverie.
“Okay, so what should that mean to me, how do I respond when mundane thoughts dominate my consciousness,” I asked.
“By turning your thoughts to me, which you just did …now you understand the ancient term, ‘bringing every thought captive to I AM.”
I was overwhelmed …I had just received instruction that was rather amazing and I knew I needed to follow up on it and discuss it with Brad later to be inserted in the book …or perhaps to be put into question form for the interview or discussion or whatever form we were shown that our writing of part two of the manuscript was to take. It was very clear to me that I wasn’t to say anything about it at the moment.
Another thought struck me and I wasted no time trying to reason it out. “Okay,” I said silently to SPIRIT, “the term, as I learned it was, ‘bringing every thought captive unto Christ,’ how is that different than to I AM?” I was startled by the term I was hearing, that is:
“Purposeful obfuscation”
“…so, what are you telling me?”
What I was shown was so profound that I could hardly sit still …and in fact I got up and started pacing.
“Oh, oh, Jeanne,” Rob called out, “what has gotten in to you” …and I asked SPIRIT if I was supposed to share it with everyone and got a definitive “yes.”
“Something that is so simple and yet so startling,” I answered, then paused, “whenever everybody is ready, I feel led to share it and get SPIRIT’s input through everyone.”
“Hey guys,” Jan called out, “it is time to get down to business with the Water of Life rather than the water in the pool, Jeanne has something to share.”

“I was just given something that I think Brad and I are supposed to write about, as a beginning to part two of the Leapfrog manuscript,” I said when we were all seated.
“Who wants to give me their definition of the term, ‘purposeful obfuscation,’” I asked.
“How about deliberately providing false information in order to hide the truth?” Walt said, without any seeming thought.
“How about plain ordinary bullshit,” Rob chipped in without her usual smile.
“Are you as serious about that as you look, sweetie,” Jeff asked his wife.
“Well, what I was seeing was one of those big coal shovels full of cow manure covering over truth etched in stone at the very moment Walt was giving a more politically correct definition of the term Jeanne was given.”
“What I’d like to know, Hon,” Brad asked, “what was going through your mind in the first place that precipitated the term, ‘purposeful obfuscation?’”
“You, Jeff and Walt were all talking about the purification system for the swimming pool and Jan and Rob were talking about business. I was musing how we could all be talking about mundane things of the physical realm, when just below the surface we all share such a close and powerful connection with SPIRIT; the words that came to me are still very clear in my mind, ‘You chose to enter this realm so that it could be experienced.’”
“Oh wow,” Walt exclaimed, “no wonder that got your attention. That is very, very heavy.”
“Yes, but what came next was right after I asked SPIRIT the question, what I was supposed to do with the thought …and I heard SPIRIT say, clearly, ‘bring it to ME, which you did, and now you understand the ancient term ‘bringing every thought captive to I AM.’”
“Hmmm, bringing every thought captive to Christ,” Jeff intoned.
“That’s exactly what startled me, Jeff,” I said, “that is how I remember first hearing the term as well and I asked about it …and that’s when I heard, ‘purposeful obfuscation.’
“I knew, immediately, that I was being given instruction for something Brad and I are to write and what exactly the indelicate definition Rob so eloquently laid on us …bullshit.
“Here’s the thing and it is something I learned through Brad back in 2000 …and the very first time I had heard that Jesus said everything he spoke were not his words, but SPIRIT speaking through him …and what I got the go ahead, just now, to share with all of you, is that the bullshit is that bringing every thought captive is a ‘Christian term’ because the word ‘Christ’ has been attached to Jesus, when it is actually a reference to I AM. This all came to me in such a rush.
“Moses, the Israelite, being spoken to by the voice in the burning bush which was the same voice speaking through Jesus and to really get down to it, like yesterday when SPIRIT was talking through Walt and then we all saw that sphere about six feet away from Brad and the same voice, I AM, was emanating directly from it. Am I making any sense at all?” I finished with a gasp as the import of the words hit me, that SPIRIT had just been speaking through me as well.
“You’re saying that SPIRIT gave you the term ‘purposeful obfuscation’ in the middle of all that?” Brad asked very gently.
“Yes,” I responded, now feeling more overwhelmed than when it had first taken place.
“This seems more like a confirmation to me of things I began to see as a result of reading the first Leapfrog manuscript,” Jan said, then asked: “Is this a new thought for you, Jeanne?”
“Not at all, but it does clear away so much peripheral and unneeded junk …yet junk that I need to get rid of if I’m going to move on.”
“Bullshit,” Rob interjected and this time we all laughed at the truth we were seeing, feeling and hearing and the comic relief provided by her remark and its timing.
