Could this be one of the reasons “why?”

I may be 90 but I’m still buff.

In just a little over three months, I’ll be 90 (“The good Lord willin’ and the creek don’t rise none.”)

I certainly have no arrogance about being an old fart, but I have some fairly strong opinions that have led me to avoid healthcare experts and their prescriptions.

Because my zero-pay Medicare Supplement Healthcare plan requires that I have a “Primary Care Physician” I told the company agent to pick one. He did; that was over 12 years ago, I have yet to see him …or maybe it’s her I don’t remember.

The last time I received and used a prescription drug was from one of those walk-in emergency health clinics. That visit, including the prescription, cost me $15 …as provided by the referenced insurance plan; that was in 2011.

Sometimes a little help is good.

Now, admittedly, I don’t get around like I could when I was 80 and could still run (actually, better said “lumber” for 5 miles and more), currently and hopefully temporarily I’m using a walker due to a recent setback until I build my strength back up.

Why am I writing this? Because I’m getting tired of people, with second-hand medical expertise, gleaned from a failed and failing system, who are thirty years younger than I telling me I need to be seen by a doctor …when the one inside me does a great job of monitoring my health and telling me what and what not to do.

I wrote a Brad Cullen article four years ago that I wish everyone would read before giving me their opinions. I believe it may be one of the reasons I’m reaching the grand old age of 90 AND BEYOND. Here’s the link:
