IF YOU WANT TO LIVE LONGER …

I think I’m happy, therefore I am…really…it’s true…I think.

FORCE A SMILE! Just do it NOW! Then begin practicing several times a day.”   -Brad Cullen

Keep reading and find out the medical/scientific facts that make the practice important!

I just now, took a deep breath, exhaled, then forced a smile and held it for several seconds while continuing breathing deeply …and experienced euphoria!

Here’s what just one medical resource that tells us is the reason:

Why is smiling important? Smiling not only offers a mood boost, but ALSO helps our bodies release cortisol and endorphins that provide numerous health benefits, including:

  • Reduced blood pressure
  • Increased endurance
  • Reduced pain
  • Reduced stress
  • Strengthened immune system

Here’s more scientific proof that practicing smiling will actually make anyone live longer:

In a 2010 Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan study, researchers looked at Major League baseball card photos from 1952 and a stunning fact emerged:

A player whose picture did NOT show him smiling lived, on average, for just under 73 years.

BUT a player whose picture had him smiling lived a full seven years longer!

You don’t have to be rich to be happy!

As I said above, forcing a smile and holding it for several seconds caused a euphoric sensation. Hey, I’m already going on 90, how will practicing smiling regularly, several times a day, add to my own “feeling great” longevity?

I have no idea, but you can bet I’m gonna start a “smile schedule” and beginning every morning, upon awakening, I’m going to force a smile. Then every hour on the hour I’m gonna force a smile, just thinking about this exercise makes me laugh – that’s just gotta make smiling come easier with practice, don’t you think?

Since we also have scientific evidence that feeling gratitude and deep breathing also contributes to better health and longevity, imagine, saying out loud, “I’m so grateful that I have the ability to choose to smile even if I can’t think of one other thing for which to be grateful OR smile.”

If you think this is a joke, try smiling!
