The Mind is NOT the brain
(But the Brain is an integral part of the Mind)
Recent studies have demonstrated that the physical organ we refer to as the heart is not only an integral part of the mind, but the part of the mind which has the greatest electrical output. Source: Heartmath Institute Research Library.
The science of Neurobiology has long known that the mind (don’t think “brain” here) is comprised of every one of some 13 trillion cells throughout the nervous system and the major organs. Source: US National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Cellular research has shown that each cell has a mind of its own and communicates with each of the other cells via neurotransmitters. Epigenetics (from the Greek “epi,” meaning above and genetics referring to genes – therefore, “above the genes” has demonstrated that familial tendencies, i.e., diseases that “run in the family,” are not irreversibly determined by DNA because intentional use of thoughts and feelings with the mind can alter the DNA and its influence. In order to assimilate all the foregoing requires interrupting the pattern of programming that the brain is the mind. This is no easy task, but an essential one, to even begin allowing your “whole” mind and that to which it is connected, to release you from a lifetime of misdirected education that includes maps and diagrams of the brain and its individual parts – which are sensors acting upon information that is being sent electronically from cells via neurotransmitters throughout the entire mind contained in the cellular structure of the nervous system and beyond.
A must-watch 32 minute video, at first glance, will seem to be an off the wall departure from the subject at hand, but before going to the link, keep in mind that the presenter is a physicist, Russell Targ and though the title is Banned TED Talk about
Abilities he is talking about a 23 year science project in which he participated, conducted by the CIA for the US Government.
The video helps us comprehend the connective ability of the mind to that which is beyond its own ability. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBl0cwyn5GY
After watching, please return here and see if you can make the connection to an ancient text: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart” (which is the part of the mind that provides the electrical energy that drives the unconscious flow) “and do not lean on your own understanding” (conscious connection to the unconscious flow), “but in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths.”
Here’s one way to approach the connection between today’s science and the writings found in any number of ancient texts: Simply acknowledge that you don’t know how to accomplish many things with the conscious connection, but acknowledge the existence of an unconscious flow from the whole mind and beyond and tell it you want it to lead you to whatever is the better way for you.
