The Path Which You Think Makes the Most “Sense”

May be the Path that You Most Want to Avoid!

How can you tell if it’s the right path?

Let’s start with a paraphrase of something Albert Einstein, whom we could refer to as a Jewish prophet of sorts, said and who ushered us into the nuclear age.

“You cannot solve the problems you created with the same kind of thinking which you used to create them” …or something close to that.”

One way of avoiding that kind of thinking is from another Jewish prophet of sorts called Solomon, who said: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and don’t depend upon your thinking at all, but acknowledge Him as you go on your journey and He will guide you to the path which is the better one for you,” or again, something close to that.

If it looks good, does that mean it’s the right path?

In Quantum Mechanics, or the relatively new physics (pun intended), which evolved from Einstein’s theories 1 & 2 of Relativity and which he insisted came not from thinking, but something more akin to what Solomon said, but they just don’t make sense when insisting upon certain “principles” upon which the old system of physics established by Newton are based.

Folks who think a lot want to argue that everything in the Torah/Bible is allegorical. That is certainly a different path than some Evangelicals think and if we get trapped in the logic presented by either side of that argument we miss some truth whether by thinking literally or thinking allegorically.

One way of escaping the trap of “thinking” is to apply what helped scientists stop arguing about which system of physics is correct related to certain Newtonian “principles” seemingly upended by Quantum Physics.

How can you take both paths?

The secret was to apply the words BOTH/AND – without getting into the details, if we look at any argument about anything and acknowledge that there are elements of truth to BOTH sides – then there is really no basis for argument.

What needs to happen, rather than arguing, is to understand that both sides of ALL arguments are based on limited points of view, thinking.

Thinking, when placed on the burner of INFINITE WISDOM is melted down into a truth that can only be seen by that which is beyond anything that is hatched in the finite conscious part of the mind of these bodies we occupy.

Small group dialogue is promoted by YOU WITHOUT LIMITS* – not as a means of finding ultimate truth, but simply learning to listen to one another so that we can understand there are myriad ways of looking at anything and each of those ways are sorely limited.

This process helps each of us to lean not unto our own or even each other’s understanding, but to go beyond thinking to that path that is guided and may be quite different for each individual.
