LESSON THIRTY-THREE: “They’re Only Words”
Can you create your own energy field?
Now then, what was it that energized me this morning and made me so excited to write down LESSON THIRTY-THREE? Take a look to see if these words excite you, or if you have a different emotional reaction?
I awakened from a dream or “vision” of a man spinning so rapidly that he appeared to be giving off a “silver light” I cannot otherwise describe and wondered if the spinning was somehow electrically generating the light. What is it that I was seeing and is there a purpose for seeing it, or was it just a dream conjured up out of the sub-conscious? are the questions I asked.
Consider the fact that many years ago you entered into a consciousness of an alternate state and that, because of it, you became tuned to I AM and are able to see things and do things that many people are not able to see or do.
Through this continuing connection you have learned not to judge experiences that differ from your own, but lead to revelation for others beyond the “normal” senses in much the same way as it has for you. Write what it is that you are sensing to write and return to me when you are ready. Go in My peace and My love knowing that My hand is upon you.
We all know that certain words can be triggering mechanisms to bring about differing emotional responses in each of us. Let’s look at this from the standpoint of words which seem merely humorous to some, but to others the very same words are looked at as “crude” and, again, the very same words may seem to others as having the basis of “evil.”

Some four letter words, for example, are laughed at by much of the male population in one particular culture. Those very same words tend to make much of the female population of that very same culture cringe and give off varied and interesting reactions, both verbal and via “body language,” including facial expressions which leave no doubt as to degree or level of disapproval.
One of my sons taught his children, my grandson and granddaughter, whom are now well into adulthood, from the time they were very little, that any particular word, that happened to cause both their mother and their grandmother to, at the very least; frown …that such a word was just that – ONLY A WORD. After some initial shock and consternation, I began to consider that perhaps such upbringing was pure genius on his part; certainly not as a general rule, but in the loving and respectful way in which my son was teaching them. Their grandmother expressed disapproval and said we were both (my son and I) stupid and “ruining the children.”
One interesting result was that both kids would bring their school chums home just to prove they could use “dirty” words in front of their father …and, since she had given up resisting, in front of their mother as well. Why that should make such an impression on their friends is open to conjecture, but the honesty and openness between parents and children, to me, was worth it. That it also caused no little embarrassment to my daughter-in-law with other parents or a teacher, on occasion, was not a surprise.

So much for “dirty” words, no matter what intrinsic value they may have related to shock or humor; are they really “only words” or is there something more sinister happening? Well now, that depends on individual interpretation, does it not?
Misunderstanding among human beings has existed going back to the time, according to one historical reference, that “the whole earth had one language and one speech” – which seems to imply that there was a single written language that corresponded with a spoken language and there was complete understanding among everyone. According to this same historical reference, everyone was also in complete unity and together they were seemingly invincible; that is, together they could accomplish anything, because they had such perfect communication …until that day when apparently they had gone “too far.”
It was divine that East L.A. was separated from West L.A. so now they could have two football teams.
What happened that caused the disruption of what seems to have been this unity of purpose and a perfect system of communication – one in which there were no differing opinions (?) or is that making an assumption that also goes too far? Well, my friends, since the historical reference mentioned above happens to be from a supposedly accurate English translation of the Judeo-Christian Bible, it clearly looks as though, according to a purely “biblical perspective” “…Divine intervention” caused the rift.
This takes some close attention and so that our emotional responses to interpretations we place upon certain words don’t cause us to miss some important points both in the referenced text AND the points I’m attempting to make – just relax and slowly consider the following:
“And the Lord said, ‘Let Us go down and confuse their language so that they no longer understand one another, otherwise nothing shall be impossible for them,’ …so the Lord scattered them abroad from there and called the place Babel to signify the beginning of people talking in too many different languages so that they no longer understood one another.”
It is at this point that we need to clearly see one huge challenge to our communicating with one another, right NOW, in this moment. First of all, many of us have been conditioned to think in terms of a singular (ONE) Supreme Being. Many of us, further, when we see the word “Lord,” immediately interpret that to be signifying one of the names of this singular Supreme Being. So to whom was this “Lord” speaking the words, “Let US go down and confuse their language” (?) Was this “US” an entourage of celestial being-assistants of some sort to this “Lord?” OR …is it possible that this “Lord” is made up, somehow, of a group of SPIRIT beings?

The foregoing two questions frame a point that may not be as far-fetched as it might seem and, in fact, is a point many people think in terms of “as basic to understanding.” I realize this is “old hat” to many readers that the Hebrew word translated into English as “God” in the first chapter of Genesis (here in English characters) is “Elohiym” and which because it is a plural word and means, according to some experts in the Hebrew language, a multiplicity of “Spirit Beings” of which the “Godhead” is formed …it cannot be translated into a singular word such as “God” of “Dios” or (also in English characters, from the Greek) “Theos.”
Now, before we go rushing headlong into further discussion, it is at this juncture we also might want to explore the distinction upon which some scholars within Islam insist; and some of their literature expresses it this way: “Muslims believe in the One, Unique, Incomparable, merciful God – the Sole Creator, Master, Sustainer and Cherisher of the Universe.”
If we don’t realize that the foregoing is a basic tenet of some Muslims, we miss the fact behind the distinction. The (again, plural) Hebrew word “Elohiym” not only cannot be translated into the Arabic (here in English characters) “Allah” …neither can the Triune (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) “God” of Christianity be translated into “Allah.”
Nope, it doesn't work. It's not the same being, how can that be?
The same difficulty exists within the religion of Hinduism, based on the Vedic Scriptures. Different Hindus believe differently and in different languages some of that culture believes that all the different “Spirit Beings” described therein refer collectively to a singular “ONE” – so what is the problem? LANGUAGE …WORDS pure and simple. Except they are not so pure or so simple because of the emotional attachment we have to our individual interpretation and our individual experiences which we use different words to describe.
If you have not been raised in a culture that looks upon the Bible, the Qur’an or the Vedic writings with a certain amount of reverence, you may wonder at all the fuss. Just figure out what the original language was actually saying and straighten it out, correct? That sounds like a good plan until you realize that different learned scholars differ as to the meaning of these words and their original context and meaning …then, you see, we’re back to the thesis beginning with “dirty” words creating a multiplicity of emotional reactions.
Enter an entirely different challenge to any us communicating effectively: emotional reactions to our individual religious and traditional interpretation of a whole set of other factors …and, again, we bump into the challenge created not only by language differences, but those deeply held and various religious connotations attached to the words we hear, write or say.
Decide what type of divine intervention you want, then ask the right divine intervener.
Frankly, at times, I feel almost useless as a communicator, whether via oral delivery or the written variety. If, after all, our communication was deliberately confounded by “Divine” intervention as the referenced passage implies, why should any of us even try? Who am I to attempt to bring anyone else to a place of certain truths which I feel have been revealed to me?
Some of the things I’ve been “shown” don’t seem to add up to the same truths which others say they have been shown. Shall we all just give up? Is it really important that we engage in debate as to what really constitutes truth? Particularly when one of the truths that is so very clear to me is that “I don’t know squat,” anyway?
Oh yes, in case you want to look it up the referenced biblical passage, it can be found in Genesis 11:1-9 and there you can determine what it means precisely to you …or can you? …or do your religious/emotional/subconscious predilections prohibit you from seeing anything differently than whatever you have been comfortable believing in the past?
Before we change direction, here, lest anyone think I am promoting ANY religion …I am NOT, but hopefully I can learn from those who are within any religion no matter how “foreign” it is to my thinking or understanding. Having said that, I’m going to quote something from ONE translation of the Qur’an …just words, again, correct? Please, again, read carefully and slowly and without any emotional attachment or reaction, (I’m grinning at how preposterous is THAT notion):
What treasure can you find in the Holy Book?
“Say: We believe in God and what has been revealed to us, and what was revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the tribes, and what was given to Moses and Jesus and to the prophets from their Lord; we do not make any distinction between any of them, and to Allah do we wholly give ourselves.” (Qur’an 3:84)
…and to which I (Brad Cullen) add: Translated by whom and interpreted by whom and with what kind of prejudiced and emotional attachments? Is there a solution to this dilemma of downright, lousy communication between us all? OR is it possible that we really are under a divine decree that keeps us from communicating with one another so that we don’t again become invincible? Are any of these reasonable questions, or do they represent the mutterings of a depraved mind?

LESSON THIRTY-TWO precipitated the usual e-mail response. “Usual” meaning both ends of the full spectrum of emotional response and some expressions of “ho-hum” in between …why the variation in response to the very same article (and soon to be chapter, as Ryan Bruce is making all kinds of noise that he intends to publish this current series as a book) and for an author or transcriber, depending upon who is putting whatever value they place on “my” writing, to have a publisher get excited about “my” stuff does give me a huge sense of gratitude.
We can adopt whatever religious traditions we want...and there are some real cool ones!
Again, the reaction to number 32 was varied (to put it mildly). Many of those reactions were based on the religious traditions of the folks who responded. Why I should get emotionally involved in those reactions is silly; even though many of the written responses were nothing short of inspiring because they were the result of a person going DIRECTLY to our (your and my) SPIRIT-PARENT, by whatever other title or name, asking if the LESSON was just for crazy, old BC (that’s short for Brad Cullen) or for them as well.
Some of those insights shared by others were encouraging even when they were a corrective to nudge me along the path of looking at something differently and therefore giving up an attachment to an old way of thinking that was in the way of my own progress. Thank you, one and all, for taking the time to write.

Amazed, again …I felt nudged to go back to the top and read the words I had transcribed earlier. I asked again about the dream to which I had awakened and realized that what I had seen was a “whirling dervish.” The only reference to a whirling dervish of which I had a conscious memory had to do with one of a series of delightful novels about a elderly woman CIA operative by the name of Mrs. Pollifax. I remember her being in some mountainous country similar to Turkey or Afghanistan or someplace like that.
I asked if I should look up whirling dervish and got the “green light” to do so. The amazing thing, to me, considering all that I have written this morning regarding my fragmented and marginal knowledge about Islam, is that the origin of a whirling dervish is steeped in Islamic tradition. I have a feeling that if I researched it extensively enough there is an energetic current that has to do with the earth’s poles and the direction of spin that creates the revelatory experience that was likened to my own “alternative consciousness.”
The only thing I am being led to say at this moment, is that mine was brought on by elongated periods (sometimes weeks –plural–) of going without ingesting anything except for drinking water. Where this is headed I guess we’re supposed to see in LESSON THIRTY-FOUR.
