Walk by Faith Not by Sight
Go ahead cross, have faith that they will see you and stop.
(but don’t forget the object is to see)
“Can you imagine me telling a blind person, ‘We must walk by faith, not by sight?’ …well, don’t you either!”
This was in a vivid dream this morning. Jesus dressed in faded jeans, a light blue T-shirt and worn running shoes. There was a small group of us sitting around in a park … the dream ended with, “Tell them if they want to respect me to begin saying, ‘we can do anything in this world we set our minds to doing.’”
Still in the dream, I asked, “Is this just in my sub-conscious or are you really saying it right now?”
He laughed and said, “What difference does it make? Just do it!”
I apparently woke myself up from laughing. I got out of bed in the usual barely-awake-stupor and was startled wide awake with these words. SHARE THE DREAM!
So, what now?
“Now is the perfect place to use a passage you always use to make a point …to make this point.”
When you know what your made of, doing anything is easy to believe.
I knew immediately it was this one: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8 – I also saw, it doesn’t make one whit of difference to nit-pick about whether this is coming from the unconscious part of the brain of this body bag I occupy or if it is I AM, or Jesus speaking …the message of the dream is “WE CAN DO ANYTHING IN THE WORLD WE SET OUR MINDS TO DOING AND IT DOESN’T MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE WHO SAYS IT!”
…and how silly it is to intone piously to somebody who cannot see (just yet) “We must walk by faith, brother.”
I have had the good fortune to have the experience of witnessing people TOTALLY blind regaining their sight and in two specific instances I remember vividly their sight being better than it had ever been in their lives!
So, if you respect Jesus, act like it! Act upon it – get the kind of faith he said to get (he called it “God-faith”) and the way we acquire it takes a huge leap of faith. The Brad Cullen method of getting it is following Jesus’ instructions.
“You promised it, I want it and I’m not going to stop hollering for it until I get it for this situation.”
Stop making excuses, if you respect Jesus do what he said.
You have to know He's there when you ask.
Now I’m laughing a “holy laughter” remembering a guy who was blind, begging on the road side waiting for Jesus to come by. Long before he was close, Bartimaeus started yelling at the top of his lungs:
“Jesus have mercy on me!” Over and over he yelled these words. All the while the people around him kept trying to hush him up. Bart yelled all the louder.
Finally Jesus heard him and told someone to bring him over. “What is it you want?”
“I want to see!”
“Okay,” Jesus said, “You can see, because your faith did it.”
In other words, my dear friends, if something, whatever it is, is bugging you start hollering and don’t stop hollering until it gets fixed. That’s faith. Oh yes, for those who keep writing, pleading with me to insert Scripture references – I’m fairly certain that little vignette is in the 10th chapter of Mark.
If my recollection is off, what difference does it make – the point is, if you want to show respect to Jesus, holler for faith and keep hollering for it until you get it …then start laughing because you are using faith by hollering (meaning you already have it) …don’t stop hollering, though, until you see well enough to follow Jesus on down the road (that’s what old Bart did). Go and do likewise.
Now, perhaps you can get off your pew and begin doing a few other things Jesus says to do (present tense) TODAY. After all, he is the same yesterday, today and forever and that’s in that Bible you love to quote so well.
Hey, I’m just doing what I’m told to do, if you don’t like what I’m saying take it up with the ONE who is telling me to say it.
