A Guaranteed Happy, Successful Life. Who Would Not? Maybe you…

Who Would Not?

Do something that was entirely pleasurable, meaningful and in every way met that person’s ideals …and further that it was guaranteed he or she would be successful at doing it? I’m talking to you; if you absolutely could not fail at whatever it was you really wanted to do, wouldn’t you do it?

Come on in, we're serving up some Sure Things.

I woke up this morning with a “vision” in my mind of standing in front of a group of people asking this very thing. What’s this all about, I asked our SPIRIT-PARENT. The answer has me so excited I could spit.

Please do not put a religious connotation upon what is about to follow. Consider the name in its historic context. Yeah, the name refers to a guy who was a Jew and there is no quarrel with the fact that some of his writings and experiences shaped the various segments of Judaism and by extension Christianity and other religions as well.

That having been said, SO WHAT! Moses was also an historical figure noted for something with which almost everyone can identify: THE FEAR OF FAILURE! We’ll return to this in a moment.

Surely we all remember the story of the burning bush, right? I don’t care if you consider it myth, fairy tale, Jewish whimsy, whatever; it doesn’t change a vital truth, which is that Moses went on to become a famous speaker to and for thousands of people …and he has been revered as a great prophet by millions including, but not limited to Jews and Christians – so listen up, you, with whatever religious or anti-religious views govern your thinking.

He's always waiting for you at the crossroad.

Some people, who are not that familiar with the whole story, don’t realize that Moses said don’t pick me, I’m not a public speaker, my brother Aaron is far more suited to the task. The voice in the burning bush had just told him to go to the Children of Israel and tell them that the I AM had instructed him (Moses) to tell them that was the name this voice had said was to be memorialized for all eternity.

Anybody who had taken psychology 101 or had the equivalent in practical experience, would easily recognize Moses’ reluctance for exactly what it was; fear of failure and rejection.

What can and should be hilarious, if you will put aside your attempts to label me as being religious for even mentioning his name, plus another name I’m going to mention right now – another Jew, by the name of Jesus and what he did with those religious Jews of his day who brought up Moses.

Here’s how it came up: Jesus was talking to a rather large group, again, of the religious Jews of his day …and I’m bringing this up only to make a point which is decidedly, again, not religious, unless YOU make it so, I’m merely quoting something. This group of Jews was rejecting something Jesus had just said on the basis of, “We have Moses! – We have Abraham!” Jesus’ retort was, before there was an Abraham, I AM!”

Why am I saying this interchange should be hilarious? Think about it, this very same group was grumbling about some guy who was born blind and, all of a sudden he was able to see and claimed that Jesus had healed him. The reason they grumbled is because Jesus performed this heinous crime on the Sabbath. Stay with me here, I’m still getting to the funny part.

“If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand”

So their leaders questioned this guy about how Jesus did it in such an obvious way of trying to get something they could pin on Jesus, that the guy even poked fun at them …and after getting them thoroughly ticked off, he said, “Look, all I’m going to tell you is that once I was blind and now I can see.”

People give all kinds of crazy religious and anti-religious reasons for not wanting to hear about how to acquire healing power with which to help others and/or spiritual healing for themselves.

Some of the more honest e-mails I receive cite fear …fear of what? I referenced it above as FEAR OF FAILURE …it is also just as accurate to refer to it as the fear of the unknown. How am I so sure about this? Because I was overcome by the same kinds of fears …I admitted to one of these honest questioners just yesterday that it took me years …well, let me go grab the exchange between us. . .

Brad:  I (also) wanted to ask you, how long was it between you deciding to “do” what Jesus did until you were “doing” what Jesus did?

Then here’s my long-winded response: That’s a hard question to answer, ____, and here’s the reason – I dabbled around the edges for a long time — probably 3 – 4 years. When I finally stumbled onto Matt. 17: 14 – 22 in a Greek New Testament — and much fasting and prayer jumped out at me — and I began asking (particularly about “fasting and prayer” and what kind of either) …from that moment (which I started asking probably another several months before I finally did my first fast — I didn’t break through into the kind of faith it takes, _____ , until I got to the point of being able to fast for two weeks and longer — and began also applying what I saw Jesus saying was the requisite kind of “praying” — (knocking and demanding to be in our SPIRIT-PARENT’s presence and power) then it became bits and pieces — and once I saw that it had to be a daily thing, always demanding more of knowing His presence and power … so, for me, it was a long time — I’ve seen others break through much faster — because the key, more than anything else (again, for me), was the identity thing, that is, realizing that it was never “I” doing anything — then came the real breakthrough – that is, it is always our SPIRIT-PARENT who does the work.

Sorry, I’ve gone on and on, but just trying to be precise and honest about my own experience.”

Now we’re going to revisit something I’ve written many times over the last twenty years or so. One of the things I found so striking about the passage, I referenced in the foregoing e-mail response, is the difference between what so many religious teachers and those who follow them do and what the 12 close followers of Jesus did …and here it is:

For some folks this is a book of excuses instead a book about power.

The religious make myriad excuses for not living according to the destiny Jesus promised related to being able to do the very same things (and more) that he did. The 12 made no such excuses, they merely said, “How come we couldn’t do it?” Religious folks tend to hide behind excuses their teachers provide them, that is, why it cannot be done, instead of just admitting that they can’t do it …and how come?

That’s where fasting and prayer came in …because that’s what Jesus told them. First, “You couldn’t do it because you didn’t have enough faith” …next: “That kind of faith comes about only through much fasting and prayer” …and finally: “Nothing shall be impossible for anyone who believes enough.”

All the foregoing in the same context …now then, what does this have to do with fear of failure and fear of the unknown?

For me, in retrospect, it has everything to do with it. First I thought I wasn’t a good enough person. That’s a great excuse, but don’t try to hang on it, because nobody is good enough. But that thought process simply provided a mask so that I never faced the fact that my inabilities were due to fear.

I couldn’t believe, once I did break through into the truth of healing power and spiritual healing and began sharing the dynamics, how many people argued against it on the basis of “legalism” …when I was not making any argument that anyone else had to be engaged in spiritual healing – I continually heard stuff about “the grace of God.”

I saw that I was merely bringing up the discomforting specter of this “unknown” of healing and by so doing was creating fear.

What now?

Here’s what I’m supposed to do. First, explain that what precipitated this piece was an honest exchange between a guy in the British Isles and me and what I’m told to do about it.

How much would you pay for this, well it's free from the right Source.

My new friend in England and I have enough past and present religious baggage to fill up an ocean passenger liner, yet I’ve been able to get beyond it to listen, hear and apply what our SPIRIT-PARENT says to me that has brought about healing power and spiritual healing to many people literally all around the world, because “I” didn’t do it, but because they learned the essence of something Jesus also said: “Your faith has made you well” and that faith is in the SOURCE of everything.

The guy in the U.K. is admitting to being very close himself to breaking through. He has also admitted to some fears getting in his way. I can tell you that from just corresponding with him for only a few weeks …to use a well advertised slogan, “You’ve (already) come a long way, baby!” …those fears are about to become past tense.

The second thing I’m supposed to do is to make an offer: Write to me – won’t cost you a dime and who knows, it may start you on the road past all sorts of obstacles to receiving healing power and spiritual healing. What’s holding you back, what are you afraid of? A short cut to writing me, is going direct to our SPIRIT-PARENT – but some find that a little difficult at first. If so, write me, until you get to the point of another guy in yet another country who just wrote to Ryan and me, “I don’t need you any longer.” We said, in unison, “You never did, hallelujah!

Just do it! brad@spiritualhealingsource.com
