Finding a Church
(oh yeah, that’s just great!)
Why on earth would you want to do that, particularly if its ultimate leader is the one to whom Jesus made reference as the “god of this world.”
Am I saying that all churches are ruled by “god” of this world whom Jesus also referred to as “Satan?” I mean, how could that even be possible, especially if they have a cross out front and a sign that says …we worship Jesus the Christ?
People who feel disenfranchised by the church system, (the bulk of organized Christianity), are attracted to the blurb, “finding a church,” when they know that what it is referring to is a church that is open to accepting them on terms which seem inviting to them.
Ever since Ryan ran my article under the title he changed to, “Does God Love Gay People Too?” and he recorded a telephone discussion with me about it (podcast #26) we’ve received quite a lot of “positive” feedback in e-mails, including from gay and other alternate lifestyle Christians.
If you haven’t read the article or listened to the podcast yet, the following will give you a clear picture of our mission:
While we are supportive of ALL people …it might be important for you to know where we (Brad and Ryan) come from; and that is, sexual orientation is totally irrelevant. The issue before us all is that our promised destiny far surpasses any gender issue. This promised destiny is that of each of us being equipped to wield healing power on behalf of others and experiencing spiritual healing ourselves and living connected with the SOURCE of everything in the presence and power of the SOURCE.
We are called and, yes, chosen for one primary mission: To be beacons of light pointing all people, regardless of any issues they may face in this world, to go directly to whom we refer to as SOURCE (by whatever other title or name).
Now then, helping anyone find a “church” that will accept them “just the way they are,” may sound inviting, but back to the opening question (salvo), “Why on earth would you want to do that, particularly if its ultimate leader is the one to whom Jesus made reference as the “god of this world.” (?)
“Church” can be both dead and deadly!
I’m being led to say nothing further. Listen first to podcast #27 and then #28 – you’ll get an earful as Ryan continues trying to get a “straight” (no sexual connotation implied) answer from me about whether Satan is in charge of organized Christianity.
