STOP! If we are going to approach this experiment scientifically, then we must not skip over the important parts of the first step. But wait a minute, isn’t step two a contradiction to step one? STOP THE MUSIC! STOP EVERYTHING!! Something is missing, what is the purpose of the experiment? What is the point?
Are you feeling lucky?
Digging for gold becomes a ridiculous exercise in and of utter futility if we wind up spending our entire life digging for gold and even finding some; and even if we are storing some of it in a safe place, but have forgotten why we wanted the gold in the first place.
Why were you attracted to come along on this journey? What made this seem to be a worthwhile project? If you will take the steps in this experiment, in their proper sequence, you will have the freedom to pursue whatever it is that you discover you really want. If you skip over an essential step, the experiment won’t produce the result you want any more than a recipe will produce a particular dish if you leave out an ingredient vital to its preparation.
Discovering what it is you really want is a vital part of the process.
