“Rest in Peace”
(As seen on headstones)
How can you rest in peace NOW, instead of some future date when the body you occupy is “laid to rest?”
There’s an ancient text that proclaims the way to do that is all in the mind. If you can shake off the chains of bondage to an old English text translated in the 1600s which uses the personal pronouns, “thou,” “thee” and other words to which people today don’t begin to understand or relate. A further challenge is that many “modern” English versions, which are an accommodation to the same English version from the 1600s and may be more comfortable for the ears of today, but they still miss the point and for the same reason.
According to some Muslim scholars within Islam, Isaiah is venerated as a prophet, just as in Judaism and Christianity and the followers of all three religions, together, make up well over 50% of the world’s current population.
What’s that have to do with you? Would you like to have the peace that this 3000 year old text proclaims is all in the mind and accessible to you right now? Stay tuned.
You will have perfect peace when your mind rests in the understanding that you are not identified by the name given the human body you occupy, or any of its attributes, but that you are a spirit, occupying a human body, connected with the SPIRIT which created the Universe(s) and everything in it (them), from the “beginning.” Some folks believe the “beginning” takes place when you become aware of whom you really are and with what/whom you’re connected.
I AM that, I AM speaking through the mouth of Jesus, said “Peace I bring to you, not as the world gives to you; I give you an entirely different kind of peace.”
I well remember (1) a woman whose experience of this “beginning” and this peace after Jim K., MD (2) a psychiatrist (now retired) told her she was healed.
Just a little background; we were told by the person referring her that she was in her early seventies, weighed about 70 lbs and that she had been pronounced “terminal” by her doctors because of inoperable lung cancer.
She could hardly walk or even sit up when she arrived, aided by her husband on a Friday and her breathing was noticeably shallow and labored, during an all weekend, “prayer-faith workshop” (a name coined by Jim) with seven of us present.
The next day was devoted primarily to open discussion during which quite a bit of history about the couple poured forth through them. Shortly after a lunch break, Sunday afternoon, was when Jim’s declaration of her being healed took place. This occurred when his license to practice was still active.
This true story has several interesting facets, if you’d like to read about it, just ask and I’ll send it as an email attachment.
1The reason this particular event is so vivid in my memory is that I remained in touch with this couple for seven years, until moving out of the country and thereby losing touch with them and she had been in vibrant and active health during that entire period.
2Even though retired, Jim still lends a listening ear to those who feel as if they need one, he does so under the auspices of YOU WITHOUT LIMITS. Jim will not write a prescription, but he may say something to you from “on high” that may lead to far more comfort than some pill. You can see Jim’s bio at: http://www.youwithoutlimits.life/?page_id=292 Jim doesn’t do email or phone, but he’s willing to meet in person when he’s available. If that’s of interest, please send me an email and I’ll provide you with some details about getting together with him.
In Freedom,
Brad
