Bridging the Gap of the Centuries
PLUS Doing Just a bit of Humbling
This has been nagging at me for several days and finally is screaming at me to be written . . .
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2nd Chronicles 7:14
Depending upon which historian we want to believe, this was written somewhere between 2500 and 5000 years ago to and for Jews and subject to various interpretation by different scholars as to somewhat minor details.
Bridging the first gap of somewhere between 500 to 3000 years B.C. (or, if you prefer, before the Christian era) to around 2000 years ago . . .
“Today, if you will hear his voice, says the Holy Spirit and humble yourselves not as in the rebellion . . .” written to those Jews who interpreted that Y’shua (or one of the several other Hebraic variations of the name many historians attribute to the anglicized “Jesus”) had come on the scene as a human being and fulfilled the Jewish prophesies of the Messiah …and adopted by many Gentile Christians (3rd and 4th chapters of the New Testament book Hebrews).
NOW, bridging the gap to the present day …many of us, whether A to Z, including, but not limited to Baha’i, Christian, Jew, Hindu, Muslim all the way to Zoroastrian believe we hear the voice of the Holy Spirit saying that we who call ourselves I AM are the “people called by My name” …and just for a bit of historical perspective, the same I AM who spoke to Moses out of a burning bush and said that this name I AM was the name Moses should tell the Children of Israel was the name to be used as a memorial for all generations forever …and an event notably cited by Muhammad in the Qur’an (as dictated by the angel Gabriel who was sent to Muhammad by I AM according to the traditions of Islam).
It was this same I AM according to a quote attributed to Jesus, “Before there was an Abraham, I AM,” which according to another quote attributed to Jesus were not his words, but rather I AM speaking through him.
Let’s ask a few questions: Is it possible that the modern version (today) of the rebellion referenced in Hebrews which speaks of the grumbling and resistance to the dictates of I AM in their trek out of Egypt and which led to wandering around in the desert for forty years – is the grumbling and arguing over whether the ancient texts are allegorical or historical fact …why can’t it be both? …or how about neither?
Is it possible that those of us who are speaking I AM are not saying it, but rather allowing I AM to say it through us, just as I AM spoke through Jesus? John 8:58 …it seems that the religious of many stripes want to pick up stones to throw at us for allowing I AM to speak through us …John 8:59
That’s it and if there is any doubt as to Brad Cullen’s position …I AM! May I suggest that, if it rankles you, you take it up with I AM …because it isn’t “I” that is saying it. Is all this based on allegory or historic fact? Neither, it is what I am hearing today and being instructed today to write …final question, does it matter?
