Reversing the Process of Aging

Reversing the Process of Aging

Part Three…the alternatives

Brad Cullen

The old saying, “What you don’t know can’t hurt you,” is the antithesis of, “What you think you do know (which is doubly mental) can be devastating to your spiritual progress.”

What does either thesis or antithesis have to do with the topic at hand, that is, “reversing the process of aging?”

What I get when I ask if either maxim is true is that they are both true and merely opposite sides of the same coin. I also see that I am asking a circular question, that is, a question that gets me running around in circles because it invites the ego part of my brain to get involved.

Now then back to our question of what do either of these have to do with reversing the process of aging? …(If we approach this from the prospect that both are true, a seeming paradox in one dictionary sense of the word, that is, a statement or proposition that seems self-contradictory or absurd, but in reality expresses a possible truth), the truth that emerges is that our finite brains can get us into trouble.

What I’m being shown is that whether we insist that we know something, or even when we insist (humbly that it is impossible to know something, we fail to take the necessary step to access guidance from our SPIRIT-PARENT SOURCE. The very same thing that caused the original couple to get booted out of the Garden of Eden …they thought they knew and acted upon their knowledge which they gained from eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Don't Eat the Fruit! Ask Source Instead.

In the last paragraph of Part Two of this series, we said: “Don’t eat fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. What this means is, when we are confronted by a religious/education serpent telling us how to be wise …don’t buy it. Instead, immediately say: “Daddy I don’t know beans …HELP!”

Consider this in the context of healing power and spiritual healing, two distinctly different things from the same SOURCE and let’s pay attention to how this relates to reversing the process of aging.

As an example, Ryan Bruce made the comment in a recent podcast that getting a medical diagnosis about some ailment or another, even if founded upon the latest medical technology, limits our thinking. We agreed that what we need to do first is to go to our SPIRIT-PARENT Whom we both refer to as “Dad,” the SOURCE of everything. If Dad leads us to go get a diagnosis than we had better run, not walk, to the medical practitioner to whom He leads us.

Here’s the key: When a medical expert looks at the results of an MRI he knows the problem and convinces the patient of it. This creates a huge obstacle to believing anything different. If you don’t think that believing has an impact on the healing process and, therefore, the aging process there is no point in reading or listening further. On the other hand if you are willing to open your mind to the possibility of what medical “science” already knows through the placebo effect …this from medicalnet.com:

Whatever You Believe, You're Right!

Placebo effect: Also called the placebo response. A remarkable phenomenon in which a placebo — a fake treatment, an inactive substance like sugar, distilled water, or saline solution — can sometimes improve a patient’s condition simply because the person has the expectation that it will be helpful. Expectation plays a potent role in the placebo effect. The more a person believes they are going to benefit from a treatment, the more likely it is that they will experience a benefit.

Expectation, folks, which is an essential element of believing …if you don’t expect something you don’t really believe. Now then, some of you will be getting tired of this example, but here goes, again …consider now, carefully, this example: The year is 1953, just a little over fifty years ago. Almost everyone knew that it was impossible, not merely difficult, but with a certainty that no human being could run a mile in less than four minutes. Just one year later, 1954, a man from England changed all that. Roger Bannister became the first man in recorded history to do it. Since then, thousands of runners do it routinely EVERY YEAR …because they believe that it is possible!

Does this fact mean that, “poof, just by believing” anyone can do it? Of course not — but just as Roger Bannister began by saying I CAN do it — and I WILL do the requisite training — the impossible became possible.

Impossible is Nothing

Overcoming the belief in the lie that we have to get old, if we’re lucky and then die if we are even luckier, and then get to go to our respective reward is not easy. It takes no little training to overcome. Please don’t forget that Roger Bannister told reporters that he doubted he could do it …and actually was a bit surprised, but he worked at overcoming his own lack of belief.

Changing deeply ingrained systems of belief is not merely difficult, it is impossible. That’s where the good news comes in. Jesus said nothing will be impossible to anyone who believes enough. Are you anyone? Of course you are …I have proved this promise to myself over and over; you can overcome the impossible by being willing to believe.

Next up we will begin to take a look at some spiritual causes to aging and how to effectively overcome them. But first you just gotta listen to Ryan and I have our little chat about this. I’m fairly confident that he isn’t going to resist the concept, but he will probably be incisive and help me adjust my thinking in one or more points.
