Is a New Improved Model of YOU Possible?

Will You Allow it?

It doesn't matter where you hit, only one hit is necessary.

Please imagine hitting the highest part of the arch at the top of your right foot (instep) repeatedly with a small hammer until it is noticeably painful. This is actually an exercise that can develop your imagination to the point that it becomes a useful tool for increasing faith and developing healing power that is already within you.

If you will merely stop resisting and follow the foregoing instructions for this exercise until you feel intense pain …you will. This doesn’t require some in-depth scientific study to prove – but wait a minute …STOP!

How about we practice developing your powers of imagination in an immediately more beneficial way than hurting yourself, wouldn’t that seem more productive?

Before we go into an old, but true story that will provide immense help for many of you to break out of some old limiting beliefs into overwhelming faith, spiritual healing and healing power, we need to first talk about a huge obstacle that confronts each of us every day. I call it the language barrier …a barrier that has not only been in the way of us communicating with one another effectively for centuries, but has also kept us from communicating effectively with certain parts of these body-bags we occupy.

Now then, what kind of interference to our communication did I just create by my own use of terminology which, for whatever reason either repelled or offended you?

We were so close to having it all, but...then "the Lord" showed up.

Will you be offended if I cite a passage from a text in an ancient book deemed “sacred” by roughly 2.2 billion people (roughly 32% of the world’s population) and was reputed to have been written anywhere between 2500 and 5000 years ago, depending which scholarly expert you rely upon? Here it is in English:

Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. Then they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.”

But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.

If you are willing to put any credence to this particular text, it will be rather interesting to see that, again, according to the text, it was the “Lord” who created our problems in communicating with one another.

Brad and Ryan failed the test too, until...!

Might it not be appropriate, therefore, not to attempt to “fix” what the “Lord” created in the first place? I’ll leave that question with you while we attempt to move forward.

There’s an old, but true story about a Veterans Administration, mental hospital, in the southwestern U.S. in which an experiment was performed among 120 patients.

This particular group was comprised of men who had suffered what was referred to in the World War I as “shell shocked” and WW II as “battle fatigue” …none of the 120 could function anywhere on a scale that indicated “normal.”

The experiment was designed to see how well this group could do at filling out a standard aptitude test that was popular at the time –in the late 1940s– under two different sets of instructions.

The first day they were assembled, they were give the same instructions any group of job applicants might also be given, that is, they handed out the test booklets telling them they had so much time to complete them and to begin when signaled to do so.

Only six individuals completed the test and those six test scores only confirmed what was already known about all one hundred and twenty, that is, they were ill-equipped to qualify for any employment. The other 114 individuals didn’t provide sufficiently comprehensive answers to indicate anything except severe intellectual impairment.

Can we please get a definition of NORMAL?

The next day the same group was herded back into the room, but this time a different instruction was given: “Please complete the test just the way you would if you were normal.”

With only this slight difference in instruction, over fifty percent achieved what could be construed as scores indicating an aptitude and suitability for a variety of different kinds of employment.

Looked at from one point of view this is clearly and simply only a matter of improved communication. That is, getting through or beyond an individual’s simple resistance to doing something based on the proven misconception (in over fifty percent of the patients that they weren’t intellectually capable of completing or, in some cases, even starting the test).

It goes deeper, however, than just the misconception of the patients – the test administrators were led, by the staff of the hospital, to believe that they could not expect any positive responses whatsoever from this group. An essential part of the experiment was that the administrators’ expectations were low and thus the element of surprise of the patients, the hospital staff and the administrators of the test enhanced the overall result.

We could liken the result to what has been termed in medical circles as the placebo effect.

Perhaps all cures are placebos?

A recent publication from the Harvard Medical School had this interesting caption: Rather than dismiss it, we should try to understand the placebo effect and harness it when we can. One of the things I found interesting in the article was the almost even distribution of both patients and physicians who both resist and welcome placebos as an integral part of overall medical care of patients.

Roughly fifty percent of patients do not respond successfully to placebos. The article also pointed out, however, that the way in which an individual physician introduced the placebo to the patient had a significant effect on its viability.

Another Medical School, at Baylor University in Houston, published a study that indicated that “real” knee surgery in certain types of knee ailments was no more effective, statistically, than the placebo (or “scam”) variety of surgery at reducing pain. That particular study lent proof to a growing suspicion that thousands of knee surgeries performed each year are unnecessary!

Okay, so how does any of this live up to the title, Is a New Improved Model of YOU Possible and Will You Allow it?

You are making your own Virtual Reality right now!

From the very start we tried to get your attention with an attempt at getting you to imagine hitting yourself on the instep of your right foot with a hammer until you actually began to feel the pain.

We jumped from there to quoting a passage from an ancient text that rather blatantly shows that God …or somebody playing like God messed with mankind’s ability to communicate with one another …AND also has kept us from communicating effectively with certain parts of these body-bags we occupy.

That wasn’t enough, we took you to a mental hospital – and it is there we can have a BINGO …a brand new you!

Listen, if a person who is incapable can pretend like he is doing something just the way he would if he were normal, imagine what a normal person could do by simply pretending he or she is unlimited …think about that for a moment.

Spiritual Healing Source will be introducing a brand new Brad Cullen book …Integration of the Mind and a work book called The Companion in the next few weeks along with a brand new website called www.lightchoiceworks.com [no, we are not discontinuing www.spiritualhealingsource.com] and some exciting, but very practical personal growth services including FREE online, webinars called Virtual Reality Workshops.
