The Switch to Freedom

Is choosing obedience, expedient or is that just double talk?

Is choosing obedience, expedient or is that just double talk?

This is the simplest transition of all. In aligning ourselves with principles we can find peace joy and happiness and here is one simple way to do it:

By continually practicing the following exercise we will have found the truth …by shifting our focus from the drudgery of having to obey rules or instructions that don’t make any sense, to realizing they are there for our benefit.

We do this (the exercise) by asking one simple question: How does this rule or instruction serve what is the best in and for me?

We are now free to follow the rule or instruction for the sake of expedience and obedience …knowing that it’s for our better good; and as the answer to the question is provided, whether instantly given or gradually revealed – any law begins to make sense …IT IS THERE FOR OUR OWN BETTER GOOD …and we are free to align ourselves to it expediently in peace, joy and happiness, as opposed to obedience because we think we have to obey, “or else” – a rather common somewhat conscious practice in many a religion and family households.

I did this for years, not knowing how many serious problems I was avoiding.

I did this for years, not knowing how many serious problems I was avoiding.

Any time we sense resistance and rebellion welling up inside about having to obey …merely flip the switch from the down position of obedience to the up position of expedience because the law is of benefit to us.

The beauty of practicing committed obedience even when there is no convenience or, to hammer the point home with redundance, convenient expedience is that we are now living in the LAW of FREEDOM …and by following this law, we begin to notice that many laws don’t even apply to us and, therefore, can be ignored just as if they didn’t exist …because they no longer do …and all because of expedience instead of obedience.
